Are we sure this is correct? If he was born in 1783, he would have been 20 or 21 when he entered the École Polytechnique, not 18 as the article says. I also have a book, "A Source Book in Mathematics" by David Smith, that states that his year of birth was 1785. ReykYO! 08:39, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
