Name version[edit]

Surely this should be chaplain shipman...(?)thats the chaplains name in my version...cant be arsed checking who the publisher is but it has an intro by buroughs

I read the book (in paperback) in 1969, and it was A T Tappman, so the name change is not based upon the movie script. Maybe it happened when they printed the paperback version in the US. --Tim Keck 19:00, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would also surgest a name change to Chaplain Shipman, purely because this is the name used in the original (1st edition) of the book, Chaplain Tappman is a name only used in later editions and is not used outside the US. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.158.1.24 (talk) 11:10, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd agree completely, this isn't like a spelling argument where we decide to go with UK or US English dependent upon who got there first or whatever, this is basic. Shipman was the original name, Shipman is the international name so the article should have it as Shipman. "random acts of quiet protest"?[edit]

Closing Time[edit]
