Name version[edit]

Surely this should be chaplain shipman...(?)thats the chaplains name in my version...cant be arsed checking who the publisher is but it has an intro by buroughs

I read the book (in paperback) in 1969, and it was A T Tappman, so the name change is not based upon the movie script. Maybe it happened when they printed the paperback version in the US. --Tim Keck 19:00, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To resolve the above issues read the article --Lethaniol 15:28, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would also surgest a name change to Chaplain Shipman, purely because this is the name used in the original (1st edition) of the book, Chaplain Tappman is a name only used in later editions and is not used outside the US. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.158.1.24 (talk) 11:10, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd agree completely, this isn't like a spelling argument where we decide to go with UK or US English dependent upon who got there first or whatever, this is basic. Shipman was the original name, Shipman is the international name so the article should have it as Shipman. The USA is not the entire world, far from it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.213.178.78 (talk) 11:37, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

America is the best so Chaplain Shipman shouldn't even matter. Chaplain Tappman all the way! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.6.178.196 (talk) 00:54, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"random acts of quiet protest"?[edit]

I don't think the Chaplain was remotely related to any of the crimes listed there, even though he was charged with them. Please make this more clear, and mention the stolen plum tomato.--I Am The Walrus 00:15, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I will when I get time - but you can always change/add bits in yourself. Cheers --Lethaniol 15:28, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Closing Time[edit]

Despite the fact that Closing Time, the sequel to Catch-22, has been around for 16 years, there are no details of the book in the character bio. I would think biologically producing tritium would be of some interest. 173.70.194.24 (talk) 23:33, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Link beautification[edit]

The article begins with two bold links, do you object to unlink them and put the same normal blue links elsewhere in the lead? Χρυσάνθη Λυκούση (talk) 16:01, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
