Hmmm, I don't see how, at all, there is any reasoning behind Lusy's accusations that the page is biased.

Champion were definately one of the most major hardcore bands of recent years, and, haven't you seen the bands that the page says they toured with? I think that that at least gives them a definate mention on Wikipedia.

The band never wanted any advertisements really. So, how, after the band has finished, could this possibly have such a great impact on the band? It tells of the history of the band, not where to buy the records.

If you delete this page, you may as well delete the articles on every other semi-underground alternative band on here. It would be by the exact same principles. - Simon

This band may not be notable to whoever marked it as such. But it is notable to me. As said by Simon, if this bands wiki is deleted thousands of band pages would then have to be deleted to be fair - Mpete510 14:17, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This band has been used as a source and topic for academic journal articles and books. Ross Haenfler's book "Straight Edge" comes to mind, although I think Beth Lahickey's book and a few others use it too. I don't have the time to be specific right now but let me just say that just because you haven't heard a band doesn't mean they're non-notable. Does widespread public acceptance make a band notable? If so, there's a ton of historic great musicians that should have their pages deleted. And artists who died before inspiring others. I guess the only way for this to work is to either show how Champion has been used as a topic for a ton of publications, or to show how horrible current popular bands were inspired by Champion, if there are any. Notability[edit]

Per Wikipedia's notability requirements, Champion meets the criteria of requirement #7, being one of, if not the mode noted straight edge hardcore band of the '00s. Also, per requirement #5, they released multiple records on the Bridge9 record label, one of the most important and active record hardcore record labels.AndyMcKay 22:24, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
