Literal meaning[edit]

Article needs literal meaning of province name, and Han Tu. Badagnani

First character is 西. It doesn't mean "highlands." Badagnani 07:48, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this the second character? . Badagnani 07:52, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tây or 西 means west and nguyên or 原 just means flat land. it doesn't mention whether the land is highland or lowland. Highland is 高原 in Chinese and cao nguyên in Vietnamese. -- Hello World! 02:39, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, so what are the Han Tu, then? Chinese Wikipedia gives 中部高原. Badagnani 17:16, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have searched the web and some gives Tây Cao Nguyên. Moreover in Vietnamese Wikipedia it wrote “Thời Việt Nam Cộng hòa, nơi đây được gọi là Cao nguyên Trung phần. Hiện nay đôi khi được gọi là Cao nguyên Trung Bộ.” Can anyone translate it and put it in this article? - Hello World! 05:12, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal[edit]

Nguyen[edit]

Nguyen is a common name, what does it mean? Mathiastck 21:10, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For information about the surname, please see Nguyễn. It's not the same word as Nguyên. Badagnani 21:46, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Central Highlands[edit]

Isn't it called "Central Highlands" in English? If so, why isn't this term mentioned in the article? Badagnani 06:20, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stop deleting RS sourced material just because you don't like what it says[edit]

Ssbbplayer. If you have an issue with the POV, find other sources which present a different POV and add them to the already existing material. If you have an issue with a specific word or sentence, rewrite it and choose another word. Mass blanking reliably sourced material is not the way wikipedia works. Most of the material is sourced from university presses or journals. If you have issue with the material that isn't sourced from it, then just delete the specific sentence or paragraph instead of mass blanking. STSC Rajmaan (talk) 18:40, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Finding a reliable source is obviously a good step but just because it comes from university presses or academic publishers does not automatically qualify them for inclusion in the wiki. The major issues are listed below: I used the quote box to make it easier to read.
It looks better and I would keep it. I have removed the older notices and I will still look at the rest soon. Ssbbplayer (talk) 01:27, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the delay but after a long time analyzing each sentences. This new version is much better than the older one. Keep it as it is. Ssbbplayer (talk) 22:18, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
