Hartley expedition[edit]

The village had earlier been destroyed by Colonel Thomas Hartley in the autumn of 1778.^[1]

Hartley got as far as Queen Esther's Town, not into New York. If Catherine's town had earlier bee burned there would have been nothing left for Sullivan, and his accounts make no mention of it. Peter Flass (talk) 13:10, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
