It has to be detoxified because it is a root vegetable?[edit]

The last line in the introduction of the article suggests that cassava needs to be properly cooked for detoxification because it is a root vegetable? No citation is provided for this claim. It doesn't look like all root vegetables require detoxification. 128.32.44.100 (talk) 02:26, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cassava is different from Sabudhana (sago)[edit]

Under the section "India" in the article, it's claimed that tapioca pearls are called as Sabudhana in India. This is incorrect. Sabudhana is sago pearls, which is obtained by processing the pulp of Sago tree. The pearls made out of Tapioca root is called Tapioca pearls.

Another important thing is, it appears that Cassava and Tapioca are apparently the same. May be these two articles need to be merged (a discussion is on in the Talk page corresponding to Tapioca article). --ThePiston (talk) 18:06, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
