Western convention?[edit]

The article says: "the normal Western convention for services is that payment is not made until the services have been performed"

In the case of musicians, this is decidedly not the case: a musician is paid immediately before the service (i.e., wedding). A number of rehearsals may have preceded the actual service, which is usually why payment is made after the rehearsals but before the service. Hrsn 00:16, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
