In Taiwan, the Minister of Justice can not ask for a retrial. Only the Solicitor General can. It is common that with the blessing from the Minister of Justice, the Solicitor General would, for one case, file special appeals several times. However, Minister can not argue the case in court.Chcyang

Tortured English needs editing[edit]

The writing in the sections "Temporary Moratorium between 2006 and 2009" and "Execution Resumed" is very confusing and difficult to read. It really needs some editing to make it readable. Incomplete section: Religious attitudes[edit]

According to Wikipedia's "Buddhism in Taiwan" article, Taiwan has at least 4 major Buddhist authorities. Only one of those is represented here - and the link to the cited source for that one is dead. Also , according to Wikipedia's "Religion in Taiwan" article, Buddhism is practiced by 35% of the population. Other religions include Taoism (33%) and Christianity (3.9%). Need to discuss attitudes of these also (or change the title from "Religious attitudes" to "Buddhist attitudes"). --Zahzuhzaz (talk) 12:51, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Added views of 2 more Buddhist authorities. For Fo Guang view, replaced dead link to Chinese source with live link to English source. Removed unsourced anecdotes from Buddhist sutras as irrelevant - the topic is not what scriptures say, but Buddhist views of capital punishment. It is evident that different masters can use the same teachings to support different views! Still need Taoist and Christian views. --Zahzuhzaz (talk) 17:32, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What's the point of the "Executions Recommended" section?[edit]

The "Executions Recommended" sections seems pointless to me. It barely has content, and I believe the little content it does have could be merged into the sections above it. Overall, I am in favour of removing the "Executions Recommended" sections, because it has no purpose, and even if it does, the purpose would already be covered by the sections above it anyway. --KingErikII (Talk page) 07:55, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
