Hand[edit]

A lot of pictures of this show one or more singer with their hand against the side of their face. Why do they do this? (For example this one and this one.) --David Edgar (talk) 17:42, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The tenores used to put the hand in the earing in order to ear at the same time his own voice while listening the other voices. Sincerely, Fpittui

"According to some anthropologists, canto a tenore was performed back in nuraghe civilisation.". This is a joke, right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.25.180.170 (talk) 13:02, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There's evidence for some musical traditions going back to nuraghic times (launeddas) but there's obviously no way of substantiating this claim. Without a citation, it should be removed. Mccartneyac (talk) 20:02, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose - there aren't many English sources and using Italian spelling (which is not English) rather than the Sardinian (which is the actual language) introduces a note of cultural confusion, best to stick with the original. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:28, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Polyphonic?[edit]

This music is not really polyphonic--there is a melody accompanied by a drone (the other voices). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.118.31.12 (talk) 17:41, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
