A recent contribution I made to this article was deleted by Gogo Dodo for being inappropriate. My contribution consisted of Canton, GA subdivision information which the article did not have prior to my contribution. This information adds value to the article as anyone researching the area might want to know what the subdivisions are (i.e. a student doing a report on Canton, a person shopping for Canton real estate, someone verifying the name of a subdivision. The link I placed in the External Resources took the visitor to a page on a site that explained the subdivisions in more detail. I don't understand how this can be considered spam. Please explain Gogo Dodo. I am willing to make any changes to my contribution that would make it appropriate.

Controversy?[edit]

What controversy? I assume it's something to do with Colbert's recent comments, but the box is just blank. I'll stick something up there for now, but as I am short on time someone else will have to improve on it later. LikeHolyWater (talk) 05:47, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Schools and Neighborhoods[edit]

Most schools and neighborhoods are not actually in Canton, but rather unincorporated Cherokee County. Backer2 (talk) 19:01, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There's a new elem. school off Univeter called Indian Knoll- I don't see it on the list. This should be updated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.18.57.83 (talk) 03:35, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tone Issue in Summary[edit]

The opening paragraph includes this: "Canton is a vibrant community that offers a welcoming blend of charm, progressive spirit and endless opportunities for all. In Canton, exciting and new possibilities for growth are found within an authentic, inviting community that deeply cares about the City’s future and unrivaled quality of life. Conveniently between Atlanta and the Blue Ridge Mountains, the City offers scenic views of foothills and the Etowah River." This sounds like it's from a tourist brochure, not a Wikipedia page. We ought to change it. 192.160.130.50 (talk) 17:01, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like this missed my watchlist because someone else made another edit right after that ... I removed it and warned the original editor (again). LynxTufts (talk) 18:03, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Schools Outside of Canton Listed Comment[edit]

I'm considering removing the list of schools that are not within Canton and do not serve Canton students. Free Home elementary, for instance, is 15 miles outside of Canton and does not serve any Canton students; should not be on the list. Thoughts from anyone before I remove them? History Section - a small problem[edit]

In the history section, the article states that Georgia made a treaty with the federal government... No citations, and no year to mention... But at that point in the article, we are discussing Native American relationships in the area. Did the author intend to say the Georgia residential Native Americans, or maybe they meant to say the Cherokee Nation??? I can't tell from the article, and don't know the story to correct it... --TadgStirkland401 (TadgTalk) 05:00, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
