Minor housekeeping[edit]

Just did some minor housekeeping, clarified some things and amended some grammar to reflect the proper tense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcmillke (talkcontribs) 19:59, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2007 Champions?[edit]

Considering 2007 was entirely exhibition games, schedules were unbalanced and some of the same players where playing for multiple teams, and the league has never said anything about a championi, you can hardly award it to a team basing it on some arbitrary stat —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.151.77.42 (talk) 03:55, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I always said if you have a better idea how the season turned out feel free to make the edits. If you want to get technical there were no standings kept for the 2007 season either. In fact there are no official standings or results from this season either. Since many leagues award a regular season championship to the team with the best winning percentage, I figured that's the easiest way to denote who finish atop the league standings. Hence, why I called it an unofficial championship. Shootmaster 44 (talk) 04:22, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Settle down boys, no need to be hostile. You both make valid points, there was no champion, nor should there even really be standings. It was purely a series of exhibition games. That said, I think a standings is a useful visual, insofar as it gives a familiar format to display a brief summation of the happenings.
For what it's worth, if they hadn't just added a championship game, I wouldn't say we'd actually have a "champion" this year either (unless the league itself crowned a team based on the regular season). But therein lies the ultimate truth though, in that the league itself must recognize the team as a champion, anything less than that and it's just statistics. Attendance[edit]

Given that this series is a "dry run" for a 2009 launch, I would think that the attendance, or other indications of the popularity of this league would be useful information. I know attendance in Calgary was around 2000 - a figure that impressed me given the lack of marketing until about a week prior to the event. What has it been like in the the other markets? On the 2007 CMISL season wikipage there are attendance figures listed. I'm not sure we need them on the main page. Shootmaster 44 04:29, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rules[edit]

Since I am not familiar with the intricacies of the indoor soccer game and perhaps any differences between MISL and CMISL rules, I am not qualified to write a section on it. I was hoping someone could take a stab or go to the Major Indoor Soccer League wikipage and copy their rules section and make the requiste changes to suit the CMISL. Of course if that route is taken, please ensure you give that page as the source for it. Shootmaster 44 04:34, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite of the page[edit]

Since there is a separate page for the 2007 CMISL season, I don't believe it is necessary to list all the games and results on this page. However, since no official champion was declared, something should be left on the page to denote this season. I will add a champions section and declare the Saskatoon Accelerators the unofficial champion as they went undefeated and wikilink the year to the 2007 CMISL page. If someone has a better idea feel free to make the edits. Shootmaster 44 04:34, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Winnipeg and Prince George?[edit]

How do we know Winnipeg is coming back and Prince George is joining? I don't see news on the CMISL website about it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rddflag (talkcontribs) 15:42, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Using the CMISL's site is like trying to get the news by listening to the wind. Their brother league the PASL has both of those teams listed on their schedules for this year. Plus there was an article in the Prince George newspaper regarding the team's launch. Shootmaster 44 (talk) 03:14, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
