Cruising[edit]

I absolutely love that the crusing section talks about the darkside and lightside. And its absolutely awesome that it talks about the parties at gleasons—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.175.27.33 (talkcontribs) 09:02, December 18, 2006 (UTC)

Each time that someoone adds the KATN, it makes Cambridge look like a bunch of idiotic hicks. We are trying to show why Cambridge is a cool place, and then people add things like that it emphasizes the stereotypes about small towns.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.107.9.81 (talkcontribs) 17:49, December 22, 2006 (UTC)

I added the cleanup tag[edit]

Although, yes, this does sound like a nice small town, the main article really needs a big cleanup. There doesn't need to be separate sections for Grade School Principals and High School Principals. Is the "Rabbit King" stuff true? I don't think the "Mr. Michael McAvoy" section should be there at all. Compare this article to other wikipedia articles about towns in the same general region and try to put the same things & references in. If you're wondering why I don't edit the article, well...I don't live there. This article really needs a Cambridge expert to clean it up. See also WP:STYLE as a good starting point. Thomas Dzubin Talk 14:28, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I must say that I completely disagree with you Thomas. The section on Mr. McAvoy is awesome because it means a lot to the people that had him as a teacher. I added the thing on Mr. Denison because he deserves to be on here because he was a great teacher. Some of the stuff is kind of inacurate like i dont know about all that rabbit king stuff, and I can tell you that no one plays soccer or hockey at hand park, but for the most part this acticle reflects Cambridge well, and the stuff on Mr. McAvoy and Mr. Dennison, although they don't sound that big when it's this small of a town the high school make up a good 90% of what goes on in town.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.133.210.29 (talkcontribs) 08:16, February 17, 2007 (UTC)

new revision sux[edit]

Whoever made this new revision its retarded, i like it better the way it was before. now it doesnt say anything about crusing, or the dark side or light sides of college square, its just plain boring now... and whoever keeps saying katn ur retarded because katn doesnt represent cambridge at all, it was the saying for 1 classes football team and since that class is gone it should be done and over with.--74.133.208.136 17:55, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

KATN did more for this town then your pathetic rant.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 138.87.214.239 (talkcontribs) 04:50, February 21, 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, this has killed a great piece on Cambridge[edit]

Yes, the "Rabbit King" stuff is absolutely true. The rest of this article was great. Just because the other towns nearby haven't taken time to work on this doesn't the Cambridge entry should be held back. Very disheartening. Several Cambridge "experts" have written this article.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.107.11.43 (talkcontribs) 18:16, February 21, 2007 (UTC)

Notability and sources[edit]

Wikipedia requires reliable sources to be cited such as newspapers, books, reliable websites etc. Please cite new additions to the article, saying I saw it or I've lived here all my life, etc doesn't help the reliability of the project since no one can verify if the information is true or if it is a copyright violation. There is also the issue of notability, and content. Wikipedia is not the yellow pages. There is no need to list every church's phone number and the location of local Golf Courses. There is also no need to list principals and favorite teachers since principals and superintendents come and go and are not particularly noteworthy outside of the school itself. Cruising, etc is also not encyclopedic, every place that has teens and cars has a cruising strip. The stolen courthouse story and rabbit king story both need reliable sources to remain here. The rest of the removed text sounds like opinion. We need to remember that this is an encyclopedia, and content here should look like an encyclopedia article not a tourism guide or list of local folklore or rumors. If you are from the area, take some pictures of the notable items in town, and write about those items as long as they are important parts of the town. Main street, the park, fairgrounds, city hall, local landmarks or registered historic items. Upload pictures taken by you, that you own, and are willing to donate to the project. See Wikipedia:Uploading images and Wikipedia:Image use policy. It may also help to read Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines. Also, Good Articles listed under "Geography and places" on the Good Article page is where you can look to find good city articles to replicate. Thank you. --Dual Freq 00:19, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've added some sample references and noted the historical status of the courthouse. It would be nice if someone uploaded a photo of the courthouse, maybe from college square park. --Dual Freq 00:57, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rabbit King[edit]

What is this Rabbit King you speak of?

Why are there so many misspellings and stuff in the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.242.139.41 (talk) 19:38, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
