I'll start this :) Kingsif (talk) 03:24, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • History looks clear, meets stability criterion
  • A lot of copyvio:
    • From here is John Muns, president of the Dominguez Hills Homeowners Association in 1965, recognized that for a community to be selected as the site for a state college was a mark of status and prestige. He quickly headed up the campaign in support of Dominguez Hills, which at the time was still unincorporated ranch and farming land in the soon-to-be city of Carson.
    • From here and/or here is The university was ranked 35th in the number of bachelor's degrees awarded to Latinos, 86th for African-Americans and 100th for Asian-Americans by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. CSUDH was ranked 47th nationally in the total number of bachelor's degrees and 88th in total number of master's degrees awarded to minority students during the 2012-13 academic year, based on data reported to the U.S. Department of Education. For master's degrees, Cal State Dominguez Hills was 57th for Latinos and 92nd for Asian-Americans.
    • From here is Established in the name of Ronald E. McNair, the late NASA mission specialist who perished in the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger explosion, the McNair program has become a national model for how low-income and first-generation college students from traditionally under served communities who aspire to pursue advanced degrees can stand out from the substantial crowd applying for graduate school each year. The program has an impressive 93 percent graduate school acceptance rate.
    • From here is CSU Dominguez Hills placed 10th in the nation for its "contribution to public good" in a college-rankings guide compiled by Washington Monthly magazine. The magazine evaluated 650 universities offering degrees up to master's level on success in helping low-income students earn degrees, produce research and foster civic engagement and community service.
    • From here is CSUDH has developed the Male Success Alliance to attract minority men to the campus, starting with middle- and high school students.
    • From here is ...Feria Deja Huella (Leave Your Mark Fair) designed to guide predominantly Spanish-speaking parents through the U.S. educational system (not even changing the phrasing to make it grammatically correct.
    • From here is At an All-Steinway School each student is guaranteed to perform and rehearse on instruments from Steinway
    • From here is an additional $1.7 billion of industry activity throughout the state.
    • From here is Dominguez Hills is preparing to launch its Master of Science in Cyber Security program in January 2016.
    • Sources with less than 5% confidence not checked.
    • Obviously fails the no copyright violations criteria.
  • Also re. copyvio - the library photo is from here, which gives no indication that is free to license as CC-BY-SA 4.0, which it says it is on commons.
    • The Toros logo website also doesn't suggest that it's public domain, and I just looked through every page of it.

  • The other images seem fine copyright-wise
  • However, there's probably too many for the length of the article, and there's also the absolute mess created by using three images and a table that are trying to occupy the space around the bottom of 'History' and top of 'The university today'
  • Fails illustration criteria
  • A quick read makes me think it hasn't had a proper update since 2016.
  • I can identify coverage issues just from the section headings (i.e. there's a section on the library but no other buildings; a section of nursing but no other degrees; a section on economic impact but not on alumni career statistics). The history section is also shorter than the lead.
  • Fails coverage criteria
  • Citation tags are already present in the article.
  • Fails verifiability
  • There is a promotional tone.
  • Fails style
  • Far from GA. Kingsif (talk) 22:54, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • In this edit I removed the copyvio flat-out. If anyone interested wants to incorporate the information with original wording, this will show all the links to rescue the sources. Kingsif (talk) 23:06, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
