Big Meadows and Bodie Wagon Road

Big Meadows and Bodie Wagon Road redirects here but there's nothing in the article about this. I did find: this which is a scan of the Chronicle-Union Bridgeport, September 19, 1889. As the copyright has expired I'll quote the advertisement in full.

Big Meadows and Bodie Toll Road

of tolls on the

the road.

All tolls will be required to be paid at the
time of the passing of the toll gates, as no
credit is given.

Buggy Team ... $1.50
Loaded wagon and two animals ... $1.00
Each additional pair of animals ... 50¢

Pack Animals, each ... 25¢
Hogs and Sheep, each ... 5¢

I'm not sure if it's related but there are several similarly formatted ads for other toll roads. At the very bottom it says "jy?-?f William Price" (? marks are unreadable characters). Given the format of other ads on the paper this may be the person that placed the toll road ads. As there is no other background, and I don't have time for a hunt, I decided to not integrate this into the article for now. One other item is to locate a reliable source document to show that part or all of the the Big Meadows and Bodie Toll Road or Big Meadows and Bodie Wagon Road road are part of California State Route 270. --Marc Kupper|talk 21:58, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
