This new article was derived from California Gold Rush, with new material added. Rjensen (talk) 00:55, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This honestly seems like pure WP:SYNTH and WP:OR, insofar as you are attempting to take a varied array of actual facts and use them to support what seems to me to be a newfound conclusion that the phrase "California dream" holds notable meaning in and of itself.

As such, I'm going to redirect this to the Gold Rush article for now, knowing full well that you can just revert my edit. No intention of edit warring with you, hehe. I will likely take this to AfD if it gets reverted back unless someone can point out something I'm missing here. Thanks. ɠǀɳ̩ςεΝɡbomb 01:54, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's pretty standard material and is based on Starr's several books such as Inventing the Dream (1985). Rjensen (talk) 21:26, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You've sold me :). ɠǀɳ̩ςεΝɡbomb 00:28, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dark side of the California Dream?[edit]

I remember a few years ago reading an excellent and well-documented book from a french author on the history of gangsta rap, and of course he spoke of all things around that contribuated to the history of this peculiar genre of music.

Amongst things, I remember a bit on the dark side of the Californian Myth; how it was built first on the climate, pretty lands and all... And there was a clear racialist, racist edge to it - some comment like 'the sun shining on California will regenrate the white/caucasian race"...

Should this article shed us light on this aspect of the state-making and other unsavoryness more in detail than just the Grappes of Wrath? Because there is a bit later some comment of horror when a guy foun 'n***** finaly came in California!'... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.176.80.65 (talk) 12:39, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
