Fair use rationale for Image:Dillinger Escape Plan 'Calculating Infinity' album cover.jpg[edit]

Image:Dillinger Escape Plan 'Calculating Infinity' album cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:17, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • as a whole, crediting its influence on the genres and the work of several subsequent → as a whole. They also credited its influence on the genres and on the work of several subsequent
  • The lead further needs to include information on the album's genres and its lyrical topics

Done all except the last one, still working on that dannymusiceditor oops 16:02, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox[edit]

  • Image needs ALT text
Wish I knew what those were. dannymusiceditor oops 16:03, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@DannyMusicEditor: Add the "alt" parameter in the infobox (|alt=) and describe what you can see in the cover artwork. Cartoon network freak (talk) 05:17, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Forgot to update this, it's done now. dannymusiceditor oops 13:23, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • and highlighting "43% → and highlighting the tracks "43%
  • Unlink "Decibel"  Not done Why? Andre666 (talk) 18:54, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Andre666: You've linked "Decibel" before and things shouldn't be overlinked. Cartoon network freak (talk) 05:18, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Done Sorry, I didn't realise overlinking was counted between sections, but that makes sense :) Andre666 (talk) 08:29, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Decibel magazine's Kevin Stewart-Panko claimed that "Regardless → Decibel magazine's Kevin Stewart-Panko wrote: "Regardless

 Done except the point above. Andre666 (talk) 18:54, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Track listing[edit]

  • Track 11 "Variations on a Cocktail Dress" ends at 2:16, the track then includes 3 minutes of silence, followed by a hidden track for the remaining 2:39. The hidden track was created by editing audio clips from the 1959 film The Diary of Anne Frank → the given source is not reliable in any way, so you will have to shorten the sentence to: "Track 11, "Variations on a Cocktail Dress", contains almost four minutes of silence, followed by samples from the 1959 film The Diary of Anne Frank", as cited here. The link is a review which could be useful for a "Reception and legacy" expansion
The reference you've given here is equally unreliable as it is user-submitted. dannymusiceditor oops 15:06, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Other stuff[edit]

Copy-violation[edit]

  • 22.5% is a very good score!

References[edit]

  • As far as I checked them, the references do cover the assertations made in this article
  • No dead links! Good job!

Outcome[edit]

  •  On hold for 7 days. This was a very interesting reading, and there are just some minor things to be fixed before this can be promoted to GA. Btw, I listened to "Variations on a Cocktail Dress" on YouTube to convince myself that it contained Anne Frank samples. After a few seconds, my ears were bleeding, but I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing... In any case, I wish you good luck with editing! Best; Cartoon network freak (talk) 12:51, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If I had known you were going to do that, I'd have saved you the trouble. Someone who generally likes Inna and Alex Stan probably shouldn't be listening to anything labeled grindcore. I'm not even a huge fan of the album, I just saw a quality article on an album that's a landmark in mathcore, so I thought I'd help. In any case, I'll get to this after Deftones is finished, which should be shortly (like today). dannymusiceditor oops 15:42, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hell, I haven't even listened to the album and I wrote the article! I just thought it was important, and I have an interest in music history, so it worked out well. Thanks for the GA nomination and review, guys. Andre666 (talk) 18:55, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Cartoon network freak, I believe we're finished here unless Andre or I missed anything. dannymusiceditor oops 15:03, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@DannyMusicEditor: @Andre666: It was great working with you two, and you can now enjoy your new GA! Maybe some of you has time to look over one of my GANs? Just ignore if you don't. Best of regards and congrats; Cartoon network freak (talk) 21:18, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
