CKOV-FM → CKQQ-FM — CKOV-FM is a redirect to CKQQ-FM anyways because of a Call Letter Change that occurred in 2010. CJLT-FM has changed their call letters to CKOV-FM, as announced today by the CRTC. CJLT-FM → CKOV-FM

This at first appeared uncontroversial, as currently broadcasting stations are normally referred to by their current callsigns, that is, common English usage quickly follows the official change.

But there seems some confusion above and below about the exact move required, and I have failed to find any mention of the CRTC announcement quoted above at their website. The request was made for the article at CKOV to move to CKQQ, and at CJLT to move to CKOV. However, CKOV was a redirect to CKQQ. The current CKQQ article reads in part the station changed its call letters from the historic CKOV-FM to CKQQ-FM, but mentions no further move. The CJLT article mentions a pending application for a frequency change but no callsign change. Several websites such as [1] give histories of CKQQ but again no mention of a further move.

I think the reference to CKQQ may be in error, and the move requested may be simply CJLT -> CKOV, but there's no verifiable justification given for this. Is it even worth relisting? Andrewa (talk) 17:03, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The CRTC has references for the change of call letters from the application beginning as CJLT-FM [2] and then to the change of CKOV-FM [3]. But then on April 12th, they had finally decided to reverse the call sign back to CJLT-FM [4], so this move does not need to occur after all. Youknow84(talk) 22:24, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
