One or more anonymous editors in Delhi keep changing this redirect from Order of the British Empire to Coimbatore. There is already a link at the top of the Order of the British Empire article to CBE (disambiguation) where readers can click to go to Coimbatore and other meanings of CBE. However, various authors have created many Wikipedia articles that include a link to CBE, and all of them were referring to the British honour by that name. Therefore CBE was set up to "redirect" to the above article.

Please do not change this redirect without discussing it first here on the talk page. - Fayenatic london (talk) 22:23, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I feel order of british empire means OBE and not CBE. Coimbatore means CBE. we can hav all in disambiguation. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chidambaram mech04 (talkcontribs) 18:33, 12 June 2007.
Have a look at the current list of articles with a link to CBE and count how many are intended for the British honours, and how many are intended for Coimbatore or any of the many other meanings of CBE. I think they are all intended for the honours. Of course, it is theoretically possible that people have created links for CBE meaning Coimbatore and they have been corrected later, but it seems most unlikely; have you found any? The Coimbatore article doesn't even mention "CBE" yet, except in footnotes and it's not explained there, so CBE as an abbreviation for the city doesn't seem very important. As for the honours, editors just keep on adding CBE in articles about people, so the redirect to the honours should stay. Fayenatic london (talk) 21:51, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
