Originality[edit]
Considering the extent of the seminal and insightful contribution of Boxer to his field, whose relevance is felt still today in pretty much every publication on the Portuguese and the Dutch and their presence in Asia, this modest wikipedia entry would not only benefit from a more detailed and broader look at his writings, but also from a more considerate account of Boxer's life and experience. Surely, a figure larger than life, to paraphrase the wikipedia article, would no doubt deserve greater care than an entry that is almost entirely plagiarised from the Guardian obituary it refers to (vide Guardian obituary by Antonio de Figueiredo referenced at the bottom of the article)... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.170.99.72 (talk) 02:23, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
