Moved from WP:RMTR:

  • Charles J. Phipps (currently a redirect to C. J. Phipps)  C. J. Phipps (architect) – WP:COMMONNAME. Lead correctly says "known as C. J. Phipps". All refs, e.g. in the article and at ODNB, name him as C. J. Phipps Spicemix (talk) 17:28, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, this was moved in the opposite direction in 2007, to disambiguate with another C. J. Phipps (who may or may not also be known most commonly by his initials), and a disambiguation page was created. What are your thoughts on that? Dr. Vogel (talk) 21:22, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for looking into it. Can we rename the article C. J. Phipps (architect)? It's clearly not right to leave him with a name he was never known by. Cheers. Spicemix (talk) 22:49, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've adjusted your request to reflect what you're saying. I'm going to leave the request here for a bit to get some more opinions, because there are 56 articles linking to it through the full name. Dr. Vogel (talk) 05:32, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to boldly move this to C. J. Phipps, since the purported namesake Constantine Phipps, 2nd Baron Mulgrave does not even mention that he was known as "C. J." Hatnotes shall suffice. No such user (talk) 09:13, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Something off with chronology?[edit]

The Lead says that the Royal Exeter theater fire happend few months after his death, but the inquiry claims he was present in the parliamentary inquest and defending himself? I presumed the lead should probably say few months before his death, but checking the article ont he fire, it was in September. So how could Phipps defend his design after the fire if he was already dead? 86.115.29.82 (talk) 13:26, 3 January 2023 (UTC) Edit: rephrased the question with more details.[reply]

What? The fire happened 10 years before his death. The Lead does not say otherwise. -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:54, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
