Untitled[edit]

  • So Douglas fought Monaco and won by DQ, but was unable to continue after being knocked down by a punch that came after the round ended? I don't exactly understand how that rule works in boxing; perhaps someone could clarify. It is, indeed, bizarre.

  • "...who scored the biggest upsets in the history of boxing, perhaps the biggest upset in sports history..." ... I think that needs a bit of an edit, or at the very least some sources. Not very objective. Wadey4 11:35, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Surely no bookie had Tyson as a 42 to 1 favourite? Possibly 42 to 1 on?

It didn't belong. I removed it, if you see something that you think is wrong, with the article, change it, leave an edit summary explaining what you did. One of the basic principles in wikipedia is be bold and fix what is wrong. Jons63 (talk) 02:39, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

James Douglas (boxer)Buster Douglas – Per WP:CommonName. If I say "James Douglas the boxer," it'll take you a minute to remember, and you'll probably only remember because he's the only "Douglas" in common boxing knowledge. If I say "Buster Douglas" and you know anything about boxing, it'll take you about one-tenth of a second to know who I'm talking about. Everybody knows who "Buster Douglas" is. Even James "Buster" Douglas works, although I don't seem to remember "James" ever being a part of his public title. Either way, this page title doesn't work. This guy is never namechecked without the word "Buster" in there somewhere. CityOfSilver 19:11, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Google war: "Buster Douglas" -Wikipedia gets 515K hits, "James Douglas" "boxer" -Wikipedia gets 380K hits. "James Buster Douglas" -Wikipedia gets 205K hits. CityOfSilver 19:15, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Support per WP:COMMONNAME. This is why we have an article titled Buster Keaton rather than "Joseph Frank Keaton". Deor (talk) 23:44, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support "Buster Douglas" is unambiguous and was how the subject was known. --Ohconfucius ¡digame! 01:55, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Buster Douglas' ring record is incorrect since he suffered several defeats which is why he was such an underdog against Tyson
