Proposed deletion[edit]

I propose that this page be deleted for 3 reasons: 1. Although entitled 'Bus Transport in Queensland' this page solely discusses Brisbane buses/stops/interchanges/depots/trolleybuses/trams. All information contained on this page is contained on the Transport in Brisbane page, which links to Brisbane Transport which contains further information and links to the trolleybus/tram pages.

2. There are no longer any articles which link to this page; they have all been redirected to Transport in Brisbane#Buses.

3. The information about the different types of bus stops could be merged onto Transport in Brisbane, if someone wanted to save the information at all (not necessary in my opinion as it isn't really encyclopaedically necessary information) and given Brisbane has all of those types of stops in it. Similarly the list of Brisbane bus stops/interchanges could be put on the Transport in Brisbane page if desire, and the listed bus stops outside of Brisbane could be easily merged onto another page about the subject (eg Australia Fair bus station could go with Australia Fair Shopping Centre).

This means we essentially have a sparse, double-up, Brisbane-centric (instead of Queensland-centic) page here which serves no purpose anymore and should be deleted in favour of the other pages I've listed here. J.s.071991 (talk) 16:39, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • If I understand correctly, material from this page has been reused in Transport in Brisbane (as per this edit summary). Given that fact, this page cannot now be deleted, because its edit history must be preserved for copyright attribution purposes. Please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia for an explanation. This page can be merged and redirected to that one, but I am not sure that's advisable. The topic of bus transit in Queensland appears to have the potential to go beyond Brisbane, even if it currently doesn't. For example, what about the four existing articles covering different parts of Sunbus? (I've ridden on one of those buses meself!)--Arxiloxos (talk) 00:24, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merger of Bus Station articles into Infrastructure Section[edit]

  • Oppose. Merge will make this article too long. Individual station articles are also complex and information contained in them would potentially be lost. Thenborn (talk) 12:31, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
All articles contains only one paragraph and one infobox, all of which can be explain here. d'oh! talk 13:08, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support It's unlikely most of these stations are going to meet WP:GNG. I plan on merging these soon; if any individual articles have more than a sentence or two, I might keep them as standalones depending on content. A list of stations here will probably suffice. --BDD (talk) 21:31, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you're going to merge or create a list, please merge into or link your list of Brisbane ones on Transport in Brisbane#Buses and other Queensland bus stop information onto the local shopping centre/town page, where ever it might be located! Cheers. J.s.071991 (talk) 16:55, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Alternately, your SEQ list is in tabular form here: Template:Navbox TransLink (SEQ) bus network J.s.071991 (talk) 17:06, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This merger proposal is well over two years old. Are the article going to actually be merged, or should the proposal be removed? Prburley (talk) 02:17, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. I still don't think a merger is appropriate here. Adding a list of 20+ stop names isn't going to add to this article. As I said before, merging more than just the list of interchange names (eg photos, descriptions) would clutter this article. It also doesn't fit with the context of the rest of the article - the Busway section and Bus Stops section immediately above the Interchanges section don't name individual busways or bus stops, so why should the interchanges section have a list? A list is what the Template:Navbox TransLink (SEQ) bus network does. To fit the context, the Interchanges section should have a paragraph about their design and function in Qld (eg operating as transport hubs linking communities to CBD). If individual interchange articles aren't considered WP:GPG then why not propose a deletion for those pages instead? Thenborn (talk) 22:51, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. I don't support a blanket merge at the moment. Some bus stations are notable, some may not be. The more remote, less used stations may only have local importance and therefore could fail notability. Each article has to be judged on its on merits. - Shiftchange (talk) 23:18, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

40,000 per year and cites please![edit]

I have removed the statement "bus patronage had dropped to approximately 40,000 passenger journeys per annum" from the History section, because this number just seems silly. I suspect it's supposed to be either 40,000,000 per year or 40,000 per week, but with no references I can't change it. FiggyBee (talk) 06:02, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
