Merge?[edit]

Don't even try, BtP is a completly seperate entity from LoG. Both styleisticly and by band line up. It wasn't untill the re-relase of the BtP album that Lamb of God was able to really rid themselves of Abe Spear, who claimed partial ownership and partial control of BtP. BtP is NOT post-thrash ask Randy - He'll tell you as much. BtP's claim to fame is "Real Death Metal". ~User:Jman8088

Very well, However they are primaraly Death, Chris' druming has always relied more on double-bass and less on the blast beats. What do you think?-- 11:05, November 28, 2006 ~User:Jman8088

They are more death than grind, I agree, the post-thrash style is simply integrated with the riffing (similar to how Entombed plays death metal with thrashy riffs, or late Malevolent Creation. --Ryouga 21:10, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Grind?[edit]

You may add "grind" if you wish, seeing as it is valid, I left it out myself since I didn't want to clutter the page. Nonetheless, this band has never been total death metal, and that has been cited. "Death metal" with BTP and LOG (who weren't death metal at all, after BTP) is a mislabel. --Ryouga 00:35, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deathcore?[edit]

About deathcore and grind: Personally, I think grind is a better description: Some of the riffs can be much more atonal than the usual post-thrash, and yes they do have the short songs. The breakdowns are not to the "metalcore" extent of i.e. Lamb of God. I think if we are to add another genre (your call), grind would probably make more sense over deathcore. Also, I've actually seen the "grind" label applied to them quite a few times. --Ryouga 21:10, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not grindcore. Probably not deathcore[edit]

This band is not grindcore at all. Atonal riffs and short songs do not alone make a band grindcore. In fact, plenty of regular old death metal bands have atonal riffs and not very longs songs. This band also doesn't seem to use blast beats, which are one of the essential characteristics of grind.

To my knowledge, deathcore didn't really exist yet back when this band was around. But I suppose you could make the case since they are a mesh of death metal and metalcore.

Stop removing "post-thrash"[edit]

M-A is more reputable than what you yourself think. The truth is, that has always been the dominant riff style of both this band and LOG; it is cited, and if you wish to cite another genre do so, but do not alter "post-thrash" as it is correct. --Ryouga 21:32, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
