Merge proposal, Buried treasure + Treasure chest[edit]

Treasure chest is just about buried treasure -- it doesn't talk about the chests, and hardly even mentions what might be in them. Ewlyahoocom 07:51, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More than three years on, I've done so. I couldn't find material to expand Treasure chest to be a proper article, and most of the material was indeed about buried treasure, not chests. Fences&Windows 00:09, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Numerous buried hoards of treasure have been found in Scandinavia, the British Isles and Russia. Overloading the article[edit]

Removed the subsection "Treasure in Arizona" as it is soliciting mythical buried treasures with no reliable references. If the editor feels the need to solicit possible treasure in Arizona, another article dedicated to Arizona's treasure should be created. Jim (talk) 20:41, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Buried Treasure versus Burial Offerings[edit]

I think a distinction needs to be made between treasure someone has buried for safe-keeping, with the intention to later retrieve it (i.e. pirates and such), and treasure buried with a burial or as offerings.
