Name[edit]

As a landscape feature this waterfall undoubtedly would have had another earlier name before it received the ubiquitous 'Brontë' epithet. Anyone know what it was originally called? 86.134.92.106 (talk) 13:37, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On the 1921 OS map the waterfalls are marked but not named, by the 1934 one they've gained the Bronte nae, as has the bridge and the "Bronte seat" just beside them. Ozwaldowl (talk) 19:48, 10 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In a 1906 map, the stream is listed as Lumb Beck, so they would presumably be Lumb Beck Falls? See the ref.[1] Regards. The joy of all things (talk) 20:17, 10 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
