Q: Is the BNP a far-right and/or fascist party?

A: In almost all academic literature, including that leading up to the present day, the BNP's policies are classified as far-right, and its ideologies as fascist or neo-fascist. The BNP denies aspects of both of these labels – they consider themselves opposed to right-wing capitalism as well as left-wing socialism, and they say that they reject certain tenets of fascism such as the single-party state. These caveats to such labels must be acknowledged in the article, but appropriate weight should be assigned to the fact that many academics find these to be the most suitable labels to use even when taking the BNP's response to them into account.

Q: Why can't I view some of the sources in the article without paying?

A: Per WP:PAYWALL, there is no requirement that sources on Wikipedia have to be free to view. Wikipedia:WikiProject Resource Exchange may be able to help you further, and you may be able to view the sources for free at libraries or universities.

This article is written in British English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, travelled, centre, defence, artefact, analyse) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

British National Party was a Social sciences and society good articles nominee, but did not meet the good article criteria at the time. There may be suggestions below for improving the article. Once these issues have been addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake.

Far-right is not Fascist or Nazi. Fascists or Nazis are left. Mussolini was a communist and the Fascist Party in Italy evolved from Marxism. This is well documented. The German Nazi Party was the German Workers National Socialist Party-they were socialists and identified as socialists from the left. Read Hitler's Nazi Party platform. Is it right or is it left? Fascism belongs to the left side of the aisle as much as communism. Mussolini was a member of the Socialist party of Italy until 1914. Fascists believe in big government as much as the political left, welfare programs, atheism, totalitarian ideals, anti-freedom, anti-american, anti-captitalist etc and prefer violence to get ahead. Look at the so called Antifa, our modern day fascists.

I would like the word: "Fascist," to be removed from the description of this political party, as it is a democratic Nationalist party that seeks to field candidates in democratic elections.

A "party that seeks to field candidates in democratic elections" applies also to the Nazis, Mussolini's Fascists and the British Union of Fascists!
