Is this Bristol named after Bristol, UK? If so, it should be mentioned in the article.Rayray 11:43, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It was first named New Bristol, so it very well might have been. I'm unsure though. Perhaps the bristol historical society can touch this information up. --Alt 23:03, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A related question for Bristol historians: when was the town renamed and why? MolotovH (talk) 16:40, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notable people section[edit]

As with many "notable people" sections, this one is starting to look bloated. If it gets too bloated, editors may want to apply some strict rules, such as requiring references. I've very quickly checked all the linked articles and it looks like all these articles claim a Bristol residence at some point, but perhaps the references in those articles should be checked. We might consider a separate article People of Bristol, Pennsylvania or similar, but it seems silly for such a small town. I'd recommend taking out a few athletes (e.g. ones with half a season in the NFL) or actors (with just a few notable roles). In any case we shouldn't add more without taking a few out.
