concourse development[edit]

I cant find any information on the forthcoming plans to redevelop the concourse with in the station, which involves expanding M&S, removing whsmiths and placing it at the front of the station. The southern offices moving into the new development by the car park and thus the second floor area opening up to shopssailor iain 11:40, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've rewritten the section about the concourse and its redevelopment. However, I now have other concerns and questions.

Due to the hilly nature of the station area, I think terms like "second floor" and so on can cause confusion. Hence could we agree on a standard terminology for the different levels? I suggest "track level" a.k.a. "level 0" to denote the current concourse's floor, "level -1" for where the old gents's toilets were, level 1 for the floor above the current ticket office. This sort of terminology is quite common for stations on multiple levels. What do people think?

Also, am I to understand there will be an additional concourse on the floor above the current concourse (my "level 1" defined above)? I'm quite confused by the term "second floor". Where will the bar be?

Who's funding the redevelopment? Network Rail?

Oh, and all this stuff is unreferenced, and original research. Can someone supply some references, such as planning applications or something?--A bit iffy (talk) 09:04, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a brief history section. Former operators[edit]

I'm sure one of South East Trains or Southeastern or Connex South East or something like that was one of the former operators, but it's not listed. I remember there were trains along the East Coastway route from Brighton, but I can't find a suitable ref. Can anyone else remember/help?--A bit iffy (talk) 15:17, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
