All information provided here has been sourced in references given, except for some span of dates. He was Health Minister in 1983 (per SMH article), but the span of 1980 to 1983 has not been given a citation.
As MP for the state seat of Wavell
for the Liberal Party (1977–1983) = span of years is in Wikipedia entry for that seat
for the National Party (1983–1986) = span of years is in Wikipedia entry for that seat (although the ABC article confirms the 1986 end date)
As MP for the new Queensland electorate of Nicklin (1986–1989) = span of years confirmed by ABC article.
