spelling[edit]

We need a "roman" equivalent of the Norse spelling. Is it Brattahlid?

And another question: was Brattahlid Erik's home (i.e. his house) or was it the name of the community? The text now suggests the former.

Okay, answered both questons: Brattahlid is the consensus spelling; I changed the roman spelling to reflect that, and linked to this with redirects from both verions. And yes, that was Erik's estate. ----

The Jared Diamond source is also very controversial; he isn't a Viking/Norse/Greenland historian and has been criticised for just re-hashing the same preconceived notions of how the Greenlandic Norse lived and the contributing factors to their disappearance. In fact, as a trained historian, I'd go so far as to say he's a dilettante 85.108.155.100 (talk) 16:54, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

UNESCO[edit]

The UNESCO World heritage site of Kujataa Greenland includes Brattahlíð. Should be mentioned in the article somewhere. RhinoMind (talk) 23:29, 27 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
