latin name[edit]

This town is referenced in Latin writings as Forbes, Augustinian Monastery in Forbes is referenced often, I always wondered to which town that name belonged. In fact it seams that Forbes was the official name of the town before WWI, as it is shown on all historic maps.

And what's the problem with that ? Just reference that and put it into the article as short notice. ≈Tulkolahten≈≈talk≈ 22:06, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

– Per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. It is a town of thousands of inhabitants, while the other two places with the same name are much smaller (200 and 90 inhabitants) and insignificant compared to this town. In the last 30 days, Borovany (České Budějovice District) had 700+ views, while the second Borovany together with the disambiguation page about 50 views. In cswiki, it is also considered a primary topic. FromCzech (talk) 14:15, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Pageviews make a strong case that this is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for Borovany, and removing the disambiguator is a marked improvement along WP:CONCISE. ModernDayTrilobite (talkcontribs) 19:56, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • https://wikinav.toolforge.org/?language=en&title=Borovany doesn't show anything. This seems to happen when there's so little traffic there's nothing to show. I'm not sure if we can claim that the average English viewer cares about the difference between 200 and 4000, though it is certainly plausible. The page views graph shows typically less than 10 visits a month for the disambiguation set index, and that the traffic for the town grew by two orders of magnitude in the last year. Do we know why is that? --Joy (talk) 09:19, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
