Proposal to merge Claret with this article[edit]

Since Claret is just a British name for Bordeaux Wine, it ought to redirect to this page. At present, someone searching for 'Claret' would be led to think that we only have very sparse information on that topic. The information on the Claret page should be added here, or to history of Bordeaux wine as appropriate. Havelock Jones (talk) 12:03, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Agree The content of claret easily fits into the history of Bordeaux wine, either in Bordeaux wine or History of Bordeaux wine. It might be best to add a little about claret in Bordeaux wine's history section and add fuller detail in History of Bordeaux wine. Encycloshave (talk) 12:56, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Support, the two are synonyms and can be easily worked together. 89.100.207.51 (talk) 17:34, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to split viticulture and winemaking[edit]

The section on viticulture and winemaking is currently disproportionately long, and I suggest that it contains much more detailed information on these topics than the casual reader will typically want. Therefore I propose that it be splintered into its own article and replaced with a summary. Havelock Jones (talk) 09:44, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Price range and reputation[edit]

The wines of: Bordeaux wine, Burgundy wine, and Champagne have similar price ranges and reputation.

Badly in need of an update[edit]

The bulk of the text is over a decade old, and the urls are being replaced en masse with links to the Web Archive. If anybody has the knowledge and inclination to re-write the entire page, I'm sure it would be welcomed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:2000:7117:900:F808:1E4C:34CF:2C47 (talk) 20:18, 7 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
