Comparison to Darmstadt[edit]

I somehow have to ask myself why the writer of this article compares this "event" to the bombing of Darmstadt, when there is a much more similar bombing of a city/town of similiar structure e.g. Tokyo or other towns/cities in Japan, made mostly of wood. Second thing which strikes me, is that apparently for 1,000 sorties there were only three losses, a loss rate of 0,3% (is this realistic? The soviets say 90 which is more realistic, but most likely overdone). Casualties[edit]

Highly questionable number of 40 000 is used when mentioning the death toll of the aerial attacks. No sources given, and the only ones I know are unreliable witness reports and a misinterpreted account of a russian historian, who claimed that 40 000 civilians died *during the whole battle of Stalingrad*, not only on the 23 august 1942. 2A02:3032:40D:5C69:1:2:3DA5:8ABE (talk) 10:54, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
