The Bob Nieman that was a world Champion in the Pentathlon in 1979 was not a baseball player. He was born in Illinois 73 years ago and now resides in San Antonio, TX. Think you need to get your records correct. His proper name is Robert Lee Nieman and he attended the Airforce Academy and then served in the Airforce. He is married to Susan Nieman and is the son of Bob and Mary Nieman.

How do I know this? I am his cousin and his dad is my dads brother.
