Blooming Grove was not laid out by Simon Harding. As to the reliabilty of "Time" magazine, This article contains 2 errors in it. Salmon not Simon Harding laid out the village, and the village is located in North Bloomfield Twp not Bloomfield twp. Really periodicals are not the best reference for anything. They are quickly written, quickly edited, quickly printed quickly sold and quickly forgotten. Books on the otherhand , especially quality ones are usually much better researched. An author has to leave himself in a defensible position for as long as his book is in print and maybe beyond. That may be 40 or 50 years. Time has to defend it's work for a week or two and we have another issue and the last one is forgotten.

Actually the statement that it was WGH's great great uncle was again incorrect. Actually Salmon and George Tryon #1 were the sons of Amos Harding the Presidents great grandfather. That I think makes Salmon only a great uncle. I can only find this info in the book "The Shadow of Blooming Grove" page 21-23,Rick0427 (talk) 02:37, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Shadow of Blooming Grove is one of the definitive biographies of Warren G. Harding, so well written and factual that the author Francis Russell was sued by the Harding family to omit much of the details of his extra marital affairs i.e. love letters from Harding to Carrie Phillips and the same correspondence between the President and Nan Britton.This book not only states that Salmon Harding laid out Blooming Grove it traces the history and some of the order of arrival of the clan. salmon laid out the village, Amos his father gave land and built the school, Salmon in return gave land for a cemetery. Salmon also organized the Bloomfield Baptist Church and later upon moving to Galion the Bethel Baptist Church. further references the I am still researching are "The Ancestry of President Harding" Volume XXI of the Proceedings of the Wyoming historical and Geological Society, The Hardings in North America by Wilbur Harding and the History of Morrow County. I have remade my revision to reflect the factual truth. I cannot figure out the whole reference thing to do it properly. I am more interested in getting it right then vandalizing the page. I made the change in the hopes that the editor will return.
