Criticism by Herman and Chomsky[edit]

This book has recently been reissued and I am reading it with a lot of interest. It describes everyday life in Nicaragua during the Contra war. I had previously read Herman and Chomsky on the New York Times coverage Central America. Given the seriousness of Herman and Chomsky's criticisms I have edited the entry for more balanced language and to balance the somewhat flip attitude to the criticisms raised. These cannot be dismissed by throwing around the word "propaganda" but are based on an institutional analysis of the NYT and the political role it plays in the USA, setting the tone for much of the rest of the media. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Emmawriter (talk • contribs) 01:41, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

changes to entry[edit]
