Why do you call Mickey Kaus a "former" journalist? I guess it depends on your definition of journalist.

Martin56 16:46, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I went back and forth on that. (someone else actually suggested for me to change it from simply "journalist" as I had it initially) It really doesn't matter to me either way, as I consider some blogger's to be journalists as well. (Cardsplayer4life 17:33, 25 October 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Wiktionary?[edit]

I noticed someone added a wiktionary heading. Just some clarification, because it is unclear; 1) I don't think that the term "BloggingHeads.tv" should be included in wiktionary, because it isn't a word as much as a website. (that is what is implied from the template used, since it links directly to that on the search/create new page feature), 2) if "diavlog" was what was meant (as I suspect it is) then including it in its own wiktionary entry would be fine, but since it is just a term developed initially for this site, I believe it still warrants inclusion in this article. (especially since it is no longer listed separately) It is not merely a definition of a word, but a part of a larger article. In any event, those are my thoughts. Cardsplayer4life 05:51, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, the bot automatically retagged it and transwikied it. Per the instructions provided on the new template on the page, the template has been removed. I still don't think "BloggingHeads.tv" is a suitable wiktionary entry, but so be it. Please do not add that same tag again. (if there is a relevant section tag, then that might be appropriate, but not another tag for the whole article, as it will trigger the bot to do the same thing again) Cardsplayer4life 07:36, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • You're right, it was the wrong tag. The term diavlog is non notable and doesn't belong in an encylopedia. The result of the AfD wasn't Merge, it was Delete. The remaining dictionary definitions also do not belong in Wikipedia but I'll allow you to remove them. Pdelongchamp 17:28, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is a term used on the site. Fine if there doesn't need to be a separate article on it, but this was in place before the AfD. (in other words, it certainly wasn't a "Merge") It is notable in relation to the site, and therefore deserves inclusion. Also, they aren't dictionary definitions, but clarifications of site specific features, and therefore do warrant inclusion. Cardsplayer4life 10:53, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • You argue that it is notable yet it doesn't assert it's notability within the article. The standalone article was deleted because it too didn't assert it's notability. Diavlog is not a notable term to have a dedicated section and this entire section was a series of dicdefs. Please read through the policy. Pdelongchamp (talk) 21:47, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I read through the policy. Having a clarification section in a an article on a website about features specific to that website is well within the limits of what is allowable. Cardsplayer4life (talk) 18:39, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
