Guitar Solo[edit]

There should be mention of who played the guitar solo on the MMEB version.

Erm[edit]

Erm...there should really be a link to a site which analyses the MEANING of the lyrics. This lyrics HAS got a meaning, but, as "Hotel California" by The Eagles, is very complex and hence likely to be misunderstood (most people do not know that H. That song is about drugs? Nah! This lyrics HAS got a meaning in a lot of songs are misunderstood.

I always thought that "Go-cart Mozart" referred to a music industry executive who will only release his album if it coincided with the current musical trends. I also thought that the "manager mister" referred to another executive who tells Springsteen he's "got what it takes" and wants to release his music.

Manfred Mann's version[edit]

I've dug around looking for the correct lyrics for the chorus. The bands site and most lyrics sites list the lyric as "revved up like a deuce". The article states that "deuce" is commonly misheard, isn't there any supporting evidence that it is mis-sung? Or that perhaps this "ambiguous pronunciation" was done on purpose by the band? I've never met anyone that heard it as "deuce".SpiralArchitect88 (talk) 02:04, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I remember reading once in a book that due to the band being British their singing of "deuce" sounded like "douche" so people often misheard it. Alot of people mislabel this song as being sung by ELO-, from what I've seen and researched, ELO hasnt even covered the song, I think that should be placed in there somewhere, not about the cover, but about it being mislabeled.

The following sentence is in the first paragraph:

While it is commonly believed that the Electric Light Orchestra covered this song, it is merely a misconception based on mislabeling by file sharers.

"Vacant Lot" comdey skit[edit]

Commonly thought to be a Kids In The Hall skit, the first of six comedy skits from comedy troupe "Vacant Lot" featured a group of guys trying to figure out the lyrics to "Blinded by the Light". Each person present had their own strange concept of what the lyrics should be, making for a very comedic situation as they embarked on a 'karaoke-esque battle of the lyrics'. "Wrapped up" v. "Revved up"[edit]

From lyrics.wikia.com : "Hello! If you've come here to change "Wrapped up…" to "Revved up…" (as has happened twice before) please consider that the lyric sheet (available on the LP and on the 1998 CD reissue) explicitly states "Wrapped up...", and if you listen closely to the song, you can hear that that's also what Chris Thompson is singing. M@ That interview with Chris is contradictory. He says the original was "cut loose like a goose" (actually, now listening to Springsteen's original it does sound more like "goose" than "deuce"!), he says he was in MMEB since 1979 (he actually joined in 1976), he says he went back and did Criminal Tango after 1987 (the album came out in 1986), the album Solar Fire is called "Soul of Fire" (that may be a transcription issue, but still)... I'm just not sure how much stock I can put into it, especially since the album jacket prints "Wrapped up", Manfred says "Wrapped up" and it also sounds like "Wrapped up" not just on the album, but also several live versions that Chris sang on!
