Simplify the convoluted language![edit]

Hydroelectric power is found in the Wikipedia, so use it. Use simple words like "about" instead of polysyllabic words like "approximately". There is only one Tuscaloosa County in the world, so use it. Inland waterway is also in the Wikipedia, so use that. There is no need to use long and confusing phrases like "inland navigation". 98.81.11.27 (talk) 03:20, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed section on 70s River Activism[edit]

I was at UA in the early 70s and remember that this river could be set on fire with a match. Student activism was a large part of the clean-up forced on a paper mill that was causing this pollution. Those days of young people getting things done are very significant and I hope somebody can write a good addendum to the article about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.211.86.121 (talk) 05:34, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, there should be more information about the controversy due to all the pollution dumped into this river. There's a lot of important information on that online now, and it could really improve the contents of this page. There's not any mention of it, really.Lightning1115 (talk) 03:33, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
