Russian blacks[edit]

This could be a place to talk about black people in Russian mentioning the families of Abram Petrovich Gannibal, Aleksandr Pushkin, Peter Ustinov,... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.20.17.84 (talk) 15:52, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If such an article were to be written, a disambiguation link could be added. --Willscrlt 03:58, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tall Black Russian[edit]

The recipe for the Tall Black Russian is now missing, I'll add it to the Black Russian page, rather than having it be lost. Gawd forbid someone comes to wikipedia after hearing the term "Tall Black Russian" and they do not find anything about it JayKeaton 07:31, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Tall Black Russian keeps getting deleted. It is way more popular then the Black Russian, so I don't get why someone keeps deleting it. If you see it being deleted again, please revert it back up and put a note on here. Wikipedia should not be devoid of Tall Black Russians just because one user feels it should be deleted, the same as the page Germany shouldn't be deleted JayKeaton 19:57, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Piranha[edit]

I've really got to disagree. My understanding is that a Black Russian is basically the same as a White Russian but without the milk or cream. The drink with the ingredients listed here is known as a Piranha (vodka, creme de cacao, and Coke). Many cocktail websites and books disagree with this page as well. Okay, I changed it to what it really is. Vodka and coffee liqueur. Considering this site uses the IBA as a reference, perhaps one should look into what the IBA says a Black Russian is. Vodka and coffee liqueur. KDR 15:01, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A note to any future editors that read this, the IBA is actually a very small organization and their "drink list" is also extraordinarily small. The use of the IBA as a Wikipedia guideline has been disputed in the past and you should probably not rely on it when making decisions on Wikipedia drinks articles. Well, it worked out fine this time, because that recipe was wrong. KDR (talk) 12:33, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It should also be noted that the IBA and their drink list may be small, but that is because they are highly selective. They're a well respected organization that has been around for almost 60 years. KDR (talk) 12:42, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Name Origin[edit]

The story that the Black Russian comes from the period of 'dark times' with the Soviet Union seems unlikely. Can anyone verify? YuliEuphemism (talk) 23:35, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please mention reference in "Naked gun: The Smell of fear"(sorry for bad edition, I'm a newbie):) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.174.48.245 (talk) 02:22, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vader?[edit]

Would anyone like to elaborate on the "Vader"? Is the Jaegermeister served as a chaser? as an ingredient? At the moment it sounds like a half-arsed gimmick, written by a spoons barman. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:52DC:9900:1CEC:E5FF:82A8:FFA2 (talk) 19:01, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's been unsourced for years, and has had an unanswered source request for a couple months. I have removed it. GA-RT-22 (talk) 19:41, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
