What about:
1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nf3 Nc6 ? Is there a name for this or is it just a common transposition?

- A common transposition. At one point it was normal after 3. Nf3 to play 3... e6 leading to the position you give as was the case in the game Yermolinsky Vs Kaparov 1996 http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1070849 ChessCreator (talk) 13:32, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
I am not sure if it has a distinct name. I have played the Black side of this position, and turned into an original line (facing GM Arencibia in a simul; I lost the game, but it was very interesting). It can transpose from here into a variety of different lines which are more explored. The position after Black's third (listed under E10) was given !? by GM Gipslis in the Encyclopedia of Chess Openings.
