Arbitration Ruling on Race and Intelligence

The article Black Intelligence Test of Cultural Homogeneity, along with other articles relating to the area of conflict (namely, the intersection of race/ethnicity and human abilities and behaviour, broadly construed), is currently subject to active arbitration remedies, described in a 2010 Arbitration Committee case where the articulated principles included:

Pillars: Wikipedia articles must be neutral, verifiable and must not contain original research. Those founding principles (the Pillars) are not negotiable and cannot be overruled, even when apparent consensus to do so exists.
Original research: Wikipedia defines "original research" as "facts, allegations, ideas, and stories not already published by reliable sources". In particular, analyses or conclusions not already published in reliable, third-party, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy are not appropriate for inclusion in articles.
Correct use of sources: Wikipedia articles should be based on reliable, published secondary sources and, to a lesser extent, on tertiary sources. Primary sources are permitted if used carefully. All interpretive claims, analyses, or synthetic claims about primary sources must be referenced to a secondary source, rather than to original analysis of the primary-source material by Wikipedia editors.
Advocacy: Wikipedia strives towards a neutral point of view. Accordingly, it is not the appropriate venue for advocacy or for advancing a specific point of view. While coverage of all significant points of view is a necessary part of balancing an article, striving to give exposure to minority viewpoints that are not significantly expressed in reliable secondary sources is not.
Single purpose accounts: Single purpose accounts are expected to contribute neutrally instead of following their own agenda and, in particular, should take care to avoid creating the impression that their focus on one topic is non-neutral, which could strongly suggest that their editing is not compatible with the goals of this project.
Decorum: Wikipedia users are expected to behave reasonably, calmly, and courteously in their interactions with other users; to approach even difficult situations in a dignified fashion and with a constructive and collaborative outlook; and to avoid acting in a manner that brings the project into disrepute. Unseemly conduct, such as personal attacks, incivility, assumptions of bad faith, harassment, or disruptive point-making, is prohibited.
Tag-team editing: Tag teams work in unison to push a particular point of view. Tag-team editing – to thwart core policies (neutral point of view, verifiability, and no original research); or to evade procedural restrictions such as the three revert rule or to violate behavioural norms by edit warring; or to attempt to exert ownership over articles; or otherwise to prevent consensus prevailing – is prohibited.

Intelligence Citations Bibliography for Articles Related to IQ Testing[edit]

You may find it helpful while reading or editing articles to look at a bibliography of Intelligence Citations, posted for the use of all Wikipedians who have occasion to edit articles on human intelligence and related issues. I happen to have circulating access to a huge academic research library at a university with an active research program in these issues (and to another library that is one of the ten largest public library systems in the United States) and have been researching these issues since 1989. You are welcome to use these citations for your own research. You can help other Wikipedians by suggesting new sources through comments on that page. Some examples please[edit]

It doesn't test reasoning ability. It's just a "black slang from the 70s" vocab test, and as such is about as useful for measuring intelligence as a "name the parts of a yacht" test would be. 24.125.199.54 (talk) 23:17, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

...Not in those parts of, say, the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-R) in which standard language usage is used as a determinant for some [significant] aspects of intellect. If one does not have available to him or herself the standard language components, but instead has only had exposure [often from birth] to a dialect of that standardized form, then a testing instrument intended to measure language usage will be measuring an incorrect value. Black Intelligence Test of Cultural Homogeneity and Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale Scores of Black and White Police Applicants | Office of Justice Programs (ojp.gov)

As an American I would hope that we had a hoax on our hands. As a Black American I know our history with racism. Racism is a deciding factor in EVERY major national-political and geo-political decision in recorded history. I have included a link to the actual history on this. This was provided via freedom of information request form that allows any citizen to request records of any non-classified information pertaining to the country. This was not social commentary nor was it a joke or a test on colloquialism or slang. From the tone and dismissive nature of the comments I can clearly see the reason that things don't change when new elected officials take office. This seems like bad comedy writing the dad jokes of legislature. Tragically from the institution of the IQ test it was illegal for Blacks to take. The IQ test was illegal Because it was a known scientific fact taught in our schools for decades that Blacks brains are smaller, more basic and streamlined for simply survival. Our country is only 300 years old so it shouldn't be hard to keep up. Please don't take this as a slight or with any ill intent this is education in its purest form. If you want a people gone you have to make laws that ensure your goal is reached. Now that the world spotlight is on us the US to shine or fall as an economic and military force. We can't just kill off people that would be murder, genocide not (justifiable homicide) we can't keep them in concertation or labor camps like (prison) those are crimes against humanity, you know? Adolf Hitler like crimes. As a nation what to do when a resource is past its prime or no longer viewed in same light. Well you start by making sure they cannot communicate so any language from their country of origin and anyone that resembled the life they could recall or use to communicate was intentionally separated or killed. if you were caught speaking English you were to be killed. If you were literate in any way you would be killed, the worst was reading. Reading in addition to teaching literacy witch was a death sentence for those involved and possibly your new cohorts or new loved ones. Moving now into public schools, PUBLIC meaning "Owned and operated by government for the benefit of the community" Public schools are the foundation of what a person, family, community, neighborhood, municipality, state, and nation are built. We are all Americans, Americans that support sending Billions to other nations to fix their problems to enhance our hold and influence that benefits us all but never really get it done in our national public sector. The previous quote was stated on the post in Wikipedia in some communities' information is simply not available and to even know that education is a must for success so it may behave people to take their own education seriously and try to obtain the most information possible now that the internet is a mainstay. ++ so Again, not a slight or underhanded jab and anything said. This topic is an issue of the openly valued American sentiment toward re-educating a whole class of Americans with no homeland no surname no identity other than the one that garners the most positive attention in their immediate respective environments. To call it slang or to even allow a mockery of the modern English language to be called Ebonics and squarely placing the ownness on the Black community. This alone is calculated, evil, and in the end glorifies White America for allowing this to happen. This glorification in combination of praise of individuality by the media and new legislature is a guise for perpetual racism segregation and ultimately becomes exculpatory. Regardless of origin this is yet another policy put in place Blacks and by a system that rewards separation and division above all except security. On the topic of Security keeping Americans safe from outside threats. In our military Black Americans obviously are encouraged to lay down their lives for a military of their homeland in foreign theater. the sentiment is not however shared in regard to keeping White America safe from Black America here domestically. In the NAMING of this course which spells BITCH as the equally insulting test takes in consideration the feelings of poor Black people that cannot learn English and only use slang. The two things Wildy untrue and as a country we have a history of not promoting true upward mobility but adding additional roadblocks to the same. if this was not such a politically radioactive topic even the thought would have started in the same office that it started in and that person relieved of their post. These topics go unsaid similar to the actual history of America. Staying on topic the weaponized test made way for an additional wave of protecting mostly White organizations when we were to implement this as our hiring process prerequisite for Blacks to join police forces in their communities. This would ensure the discriminatory culture of racism in the very communities formed by systemic racism. We have about 600 years of work to do at this point based on the fact that we are killing hopes and dreams of our youth with these forms of legal racism. this is silently creating a warrior class of citizens that believe that their survival depends on ruthless cultural laws. Similar to the Police laws enforced by police they can have lethal outcomes for failure to abide by these laws.
