Early History[edit]
Article doesn't have much of anything from the early years of the company.
Around 1982 (earlier?) Bitstream was the leader in high-quality fonts for workstations, notably the Symbolics Lisp Machine (display and printing). I think they may also have had a relationship with Apple or Adobe; I don't remember. Their secret sauce was a font designing tool they developed on the Lisp Machine. Also, their headquarters at this time was in Cambridge, MA. That's about all I remember. I visited their office extensively back then.
