Hierarchy of names[edit]

The current arrangement of names under 'South Florida' implies that 'Biscayne Bay' was the primary use and all the rest derive from that. In fact, the first use was 'Key Biscayne' (the bay was called 'Key Biscayne Bay' before its name was shortened). -- Donald Albury 14:42, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, reformatted. More importantly: How often is Key Biscayne called "Biscayne"? A disambiguation page X should only list things which are at least sometimes called X, not things with X as part of their name. Maybe Key Biscayne should be demoted to "See also". And maybe Bay Biscayne creeping-oxeye should be omitted altogether. jnestorius(talk) 15:40, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
For that matter, Biscayne Bay, Biscayne Boulevard, the Chevy Biscayne and the USS Biscayne are the only ones I would expect to hear referred to as just "Biscayne", depending on context. I think maybe the question should, how often is "Biscayne" used as a search word for all of those things? -- Donald Albury 20:30, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
