Not Clear[edit]

The main issue with this article is that it is just not clear. It isn't as crisp as should be, considering the importance of the subject. There is some hyperbole that gets in the way, even more tidbits of marginal importance and plenty of un-sourced material to say nothing of the editorializing. Untitled[edit]

I deleted the words 'South American' because they are an ignorant way to refer to a Mexican leader. Mexico is NOT in South America.

Second longest serving?[edit]

I'm too lazy to add up the years of Fanfani and Andreotti, but Aldo Moro and De Gasperi served longer than Craxi. Period. Cheers. Io 23:22, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Berlusconi 2 did NOT make the 5 years period. After regional elections in 2005 he formed a new government with the same allies, reshuffling ministers and amending the government programme. So basically he was prime minister for 5 years in a row, but with two governments, Berlusconi 2 and Berlusconi 3.

For the same reason, Craxi's government, is the second longest in the Italian republican history. Even if Moro and De Gasperi served longer, but with more than one government

This article contains unobjective and useless statements about the author's opinion. We do not care whether the author thinks Chiesa was "unjustly singled out" or if Fanfani "made his worse mistake". Pronunciation[edit]

How is his last name pronounced? I know "x" is not a common letter in Italian, is it silent? pronounced like "ax?" or is it closer to Greek, as many Italian letters use Greek names, such as Zeta, Ipsilon, etc.

Sources on Libya[edit]

"For the Libyan attack, Craxi's government denied the United States any rights of military overflight, as did France and Spain. For the United States, this precluded the use of European continental bases, forcing the US Air Force component to be flown around France and Spain, over Portugal and through the Straits of Gibraltar, adding 1,300 miles (2,100 km) each way and requiring multiple aerial refuelings." This statement needs sources that confirm the denial of US military overflight by Italy, France and Spain in 1986.
