Rape[edit]

This incident has been deleted from this page on several occasions, mostly with no explanation. Given the undisputed facts that the victim was a Bellerbys student, as were all four of the jailed perpetrators, that it followed a social event held on Bellerbys' campus, and that it occurred in Bellerbys' own student residence this incident surely should be noted on this page.JezGrove (talk) 00:30, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Rape" section[edit]

I see that there is an ongoing edit war over the "rape" section. Those taking part should discuss the issue here rather than continuing to revert each other's edits.

Among the reasons used to justify its removal are "Bellerbys college wishes to have this part removed", and "I wish to remove this part as it does not reflect the education that Bellerbys provides, and is not neutral- it was most likely inserted by a competitor". These are not valid reasons for its removal. Indeed, persons connected with the college have a conflict of interest, and should avoid editing the article at all, though they are encouraged to contribute to this page. The section on the rape was created with this edit by JezGrove. Maproom (talk) 14:36, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

For the record, I have no connection with Bellerbys College or its competitors, nor with any of their students. I am, furthermore, aware of news reports concerning the rape which give (or certainly gave, I haven't revisited them recently) salacious details which I excluded from my edit - I sought only to include the basic facts, which all pertained to both the college's students and its premises. There are also news reports about other unfortunate historical incidents involving the college's students, including deaths in circumstances that attracted tabloid attention, that I haven't sought to include in the article simply because, aside from the individuals' studentship, these events had no direct connection with the institution. Best wishes JezGrove (talk) 19:39, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest editing[edit]

Three contributors who have added substantial content to this article are single purpose accounts (SPAs). All three have added promotional text. A fourth SPA has sought to remove content unfavourable to the college. There is a possibility that paid editing may be involved.  Velella  Velella Talk   18:47, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi please see my suggested edits for the Ofsted and also the programmes and principals - the information is currently inaccurate. Alicia Pearce (talk) 10:50, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removing warning banners[edit]

Hi there, I work for Bellerbys' PR agency. I'm keen to understand what content needs to be amended to remove the warning banners that appears on the Bellerbys Colleges Wikipedia entry. Your help in resolving this issue as swiftly as possible would be much appreciated. Many thanksStill learning always learning (talk) 11:55, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Programmes and Principals[edit]

Hi, I work for Bellerbys PR agency and as I understand that there is a conflict of interest, was keen to see if an independent editor could edit the detail on courses offered as well as the names of the principals, as this information is inaccurate.

Bellerbys do not offer pre-GCSE or GCSE programmes anymore this therefore needs to be removed. Bellerbys offer A Levels, Foundation, pre-Foundation, International year one, Summer, English language and IELTS programmes. You can find this information here: https://www.bellerbys.com/find-your-course

Foundation programme in which students choose from one of 7 subject streams….. – we now offer 11 subject streams Business, Finance and Management, Law, International Relations and Politics, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Computing, Marketing, Media, Science and Pharmacy, Art and Design and Social Sciences. Page link for verification https://www.bellerbys.com/find-your-course/foundation

In 2009 a new programme at level 4 0f the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications leading to direct entry to year 2 of an undergraduate programme at a UK university. The Undergraduate Year 1 in Business and Management has been developed in partnership with Aston University and offered at the London campus.

As of September 2021, we no longer offer the Undergraduate Year 1. We have a new level 4 programme leading to direct entry to year 2 of an undergraduate programme at an NCUK university. Page link for verification https://www.bellerbys.com/find-your-course/international-year-1

There is also misinformation on the names of the principals, the current principals are Sarah McCurrie, Interim Principal and Trystan James, Head of College. The page already references there are only two principals so I am simply looking to make the info consistent. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alicia Pearce 13:56, 27 May 2021 (UTC) (talkcontribs) 15:49, 24 May 2021 (UTC) Alicia Pearce (talk) 10:09, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ofsted Boarding Inspections[edit]

I work for Bellerbys PR agency and due to the conflict of interest, I please ask that an independent editor updates the information regarding the Ofsted inspections. The information is not currently up-to-date and will need to be updated with the most recent inspections.

The 2018 inspection https://www.isi.net/school/bellerbys-college-brighton-8940?results=true where Bellerbys Brighton achieved top marks in its most recent ISI inspection (September 2018) being fully compliant in all areas.

London – there is an more up to date ISI inspection report https://www.isi.net/reports/?name=Bellerbys%20College%20London In its recent ISI inspection (October 2019), Bellerbys London was judged to be 100% compliant across all areas of the Focused Compliance Inspection and to meet all standards in the schedule to the Education Regulations 2014, the National Minimum Standards for Boarding Schools 2015, and associated requirements. In addition, Bellerbys London was judged "Excellent" in the area of the quality of students' Personal Development and "Good" in the area of the quality of students' Academic and Other Achievements. Please can we look to have the mentioned sections edited so that all information is correct/factual? Alicia Pearce (talk) 09:27, 28 June 2021 (UTC)alicia Alicia Pearce (talk) 09:27, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bellerbys College closed[edit]

From their website: Bellerbys College will be closed from 31 August 2022. Due to changes in international student demand, we have taken the difficult but necessary decision to close Bellerbys College in Brighton and London with effect from the end of this academic year, on 31 August 2022. 2A02:C7F:5C0B:5B00:B0D7:DDEC:61AF:4EC0 (talk) 11:40, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
