grammar?[edit]

I am not sure whether this is a grammar mistake: "Belleplates are generally sold in sets of 12 (1 1/2 octaves diatonic) 25 (2 octaves chromatic) Belleplates to 61 note (5 octave) sets." It seems that this should be "Belleplates are generally sold in sets of 12 (1 1/2 octaves diatonic), 25 (2 octaves chromatic), and 61 note (5 octave) sets." --Number Googol (talk) 23:14, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

really? bell plates and Belleplates are the same thing?[edit]

Here, "Bell plate" redirects to "Belleplates." Are bell plates and Belleplates really the same instrument? The bell plate as I know it (I have seen a bell plate) is a heavy, rectangular flat steel slab suspended by a rope, and struck with a mallet. The belleplate pictures you saw at belleplates.com are what the article is about. I've never heard of the other type you're describing. Perhaps they have another name? I think we do need do set up a disambiguation page. But all I know about it is that it is a heavy, rectangular flat steel slab suspended by a rope, and may be struck with a variety of mallets or body parts (e. g. knuckles, fingernails, etc).
