Title[edit]

The current title ("Belgian apologies to the Congo") is not really sufficient. WP:PRECISE requires us to use "Democratic Republic of the Congo" rather than "Congo" and such a title would ignore any link to Rwanda, Burundi, or people of African descent in Belgium. It is a difficult one though: "Apologies and the Belgian colonial history" might be worth considering? Or perhaps the whole article could be merged into Belgium - Democratic Republic of the Congo relations. —Brigade Piron (talk) 22:01, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you could make it "Apologies of certain officials of the Kingdom of Belgium to the descendants of people who were victims of human rights violations commited by Leopold II of Belgium's colonial regime in the Congo Free State and the Belgian colony of Ruanda-Urundi" if you really want to be precise, but the lede kinda explains the title pretty well already. And it's unlikely that there will be confusion, nor that this precise title will be more practical. Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 18:48, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
