@GraemeLeggett: Fancy meeting you here. ;O) Keith-264 (talk) 22:29, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As a TV character once said "I have always been here". Fancy writing about the 'Light Night Striking Force' ? GraemeLeggett (talk) 12:19, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I need to stop starting things and not finishing them but with a full-time job my wiki mojo has fallen to a low ebb. I've been intending to re-edit Op Jericho with the Robert Lyman book to reduce its reliance on Fishman. Regards Keith-264 (talk) 13:08, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@GraemeLeggett: So say we all. Should Chastise be mentioned in the article? Keith-264 (talk) 16:07, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

|{{Date table sorting|1943-04-08|format=hide}} 8/9 April which bit of this do I change to get "8/9 April" etc? Keith-264 (talk) 16:18, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Chastise - yes, I think so. It's contemporaneous, it's ordered by Harris, and carried out by a squadron within one of the bomber groups - so it's definitely a Bomber Command operation against the Ruhr. Though I wouldn't put it in the straight list of the ops as I'd want to stress the context that it's an indirect attack on the Ruhr's capability to produce materiel rather than direct attack on factory and workers' ability to work.
Date table sorting can't pipe a custom output. You can get it to deliver a straight date. Eg |{{Date table sorting|1943-04-08|format=dm}} will give you "5 April" which will sort as 5 April 1943 but you can't get (night of) 5/6 April or a range eg 5-8 April. OK, ta Keith-264 (talk) 20:21, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved Chastise out of the table but wonder if it would be better placed if we split the table and put it between them? Keith-264 (talk) 20:49, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Why not turn the table into a text narrative? GraemeLeggett (talk) 21:06, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have the time these days. It's going to be difficult enough revising the narrative in the Background before the end of the week. Regards Keith-264 (talk) 22:34, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Things to do[edit]

Fill out German defences section, poss move Ruhr section into it, complete list of other targets, add to Aftermath. Keith-264 (talk) 14:29, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Footnotes for Oboe and H2S too. Keith-264 (talk) 19:26, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done Gee, Oboe, H2S and TI but not sure of layout. Should I combine them under a L3 header? Regards Keith-264 (talk) 11:33, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'd also an aftermath section with the Berlin raids and a change in the German nightfighter tactics. Eastfarthingan (talk) 12:06, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

BC casualties[edit]

Wenster and Frankland give considerably higher casualties than Tooze; is this because Tooze only counts raids on the Ruhr and the other two count all raids on Germany as part of the battle? Thanks Keith-264 (talk) 16:18, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Battle[edit]

Really ought to be adapted into prose but as it stands, good enough for a B methinks. Keith-264 (talk) 11:08, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest keeping a table to list dates and targets and turning the notes into the prose. What's also probably missing around the prose is the (weather) conditions, reactions and decisions back of BC that affect the raids being put on. GraemeLeggett (talk) 11:32, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. Keith-264 (talk) 11:58, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
