American war of independence in India?[edit]

Sadras was a town on the Coromandal coast of India, and was the subject of constant skirmishes between the Dutch, the French and the British. How could this be a part of American war of independence?

  • Because fighting between the French and British resumed when those powers went to war in Europe. So when France entered the American War of Independence (in support of the American colonists), the war naturally spread to India as it had done during the Seven Years War and the War of Austrian Succession. See the articles on those wars. JimmyTheOne 21:34, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
